Studies in the published literature have taken up ligand–receptor interactions, molecular pharmacology and protein chemistry in connection with IGF-1 LR3, an altered form of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Its interaction with IGF-1R, the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor, is described there in terms of structure–activity relationships, molecular signalling mechanisms and receptor-binding properties.
Separate laboratory work addresses the biochemical behaviour, protein interactions and structural features of the compound under controlled conditions, along with the analytical methods used to establish molecular identity, structural composition and purity.
